SNOWMOBILE TRAILS:

The Ely Area received another 3 inches of snow in the last 24 hours so we now have about 9 inches of snow on the ground. It is currently still snowing in Ely!

The Taconite State trail is scheduled to be groomed this week. There are still some exposed rocks and stumps, so please use caution. 2-4 inch base, fair condition. (2/21/12)

The Ely Area has about 8-10 inches of snow on the ground at this time. We need more snow and it looks like we may get some this week.

The Taconite State Trail stretches one hundred sixty five miles from Grand Rapids to Ely through many scenic vistas of rolling hillsides, lakes, rivers and forest.
