Fine diamond willow is a most elusive phenomenon, revealing hidden beauty when properly exposed. Students will learn how to find and identify diamond willow. This class is for people who wish to harvest their own diamond willow to carve a walking stick in the class on Sunday, April 15, or for those who wish to find some willow to carve on their own.
Meet at the Ely Folk School at 9:00. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and bring a bag lunch, if desired.
About the instructor: Ken Baasi has been studying and practicing carving for years and loves revealing diamond willow’s beauty. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and skills and wishes to inspire people who are genuinely interested.
