What are bitters and how did they evolve from a medicinal tonic to a popular addition to the modern cocktail? Learn how to make and use bitters in this hands-on class and discover how bitters can improve your daily well-being.
This class will cover a brief history of bitters, followed by an overview of the tools and processes needed to make bitters. We will use aromatic ingredients that consist of herbs, bark, roots and fruit, while using alcohol to extract the flavors and restorative properties of each botanical.
During class you will blend your own bitters and will be given instructions and supplies necessary to complete the final steps of the bitters making process at home, which will result in your very own finished bottles of this much loved and unique tonic.
You will also have the opportunity to taste various bitters, select cocktails and learn how to incorporate them into your favorite beverages.
