Honey extraction is the central process in beekeeping of removing honey from honeycomb so that it is isolated in a pure liquid form. Honey is stored by honey bees in their beeswax honeycomb. Jack and Ericka Lamar will discuss different methods before demonstrating how they use the extraction machine.

About the Instructors: Jack and Ericka Lamar make Embarrass their home. They live on a 118 acre hobby farm that is mostly black spruce bog. They have two high tunnels for gardening and they raise chickens and Bees.  The La Mars attended the University of Minnesota’s class on apiary management for northern climates. 2018 is their 4th year working with bees. Jack has hopes of retiring someday and spending more time with his honey and, of course, the bees.
