12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Tuition: $40 Materials: $10
No weaving experience necessary! The inkle loom is a fun and easy way to learn weaving. This ancient craft makes beautiful belts, bands and straps with many uses. Participants will learn to follow a design, warp the loom and weave a tight, even band with good selvedges. You will be able to finish a small project by the end of the class and have the confidence to strike out on your own. The inkle looms and all materials are provided.
About the instructor: Kelly Whiting studied fiber arts at the University of Wisconsin/Stout; Monocino College in Ukiah, California; and with Minnesota co-authors of The Rag Rug Handbook. She has experimented with many looms over the years, but still loves the inkle loom. She loves to share her enthusiasm about weaving through teaching this ancient art form.
