Join the Tuesday group each week at the Grand Ely Lodge for lunch and discussion on local, regional and state topics. Meeting begins at noon, lunch is on your own.
This week we welcome from the Ely Police Department Sergeant George Burger with a Traffic Safety Presentation.
The State of Minnesota has a huge network of groups and individuals that work behind the scenes to ensure safety of everyone when it comes to Traffic Safety and Transportation. A lot of the work may go unnoticed because of this huge network. This presentation is designed to inform the community how we all work together to advance transportation safety and technology. Whether a person is walking on a sidewalk, on a bicycle, in an automobile, train, bus, semi-tractor, there are so many people that put thought and effort into making sure that person gets from point A to point B the safest way possible. This presentation will inform the community about the Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths program (TZD). TZD is a safety program that brings together Engineering, Enforcement, Education, and Emergency medical response and care.
