Art Galleries
When people think of Ely, they usually think of the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. But did you know that art is just as big a part of Ely as the great outdoors?
Ely is home to a variety of galleries, each one as unique as the artists’ work within it. From stunning photos from Jim Brandenburg and Chris Perry to the stained glass at Kekekabic Studios, the work of our local artists is world class. Stop in, appreciate the artistic talent that lives here, and buy some of their work to take a little bit of Ely home with you.
That's not the only way you can see art in Ely. The Ely Mural Walk is an artistic journey through Ely’s history. Stroll through town and you'll find 19 works of art depicting Ely through an artist's eye.
Join us in February for the Ely Winter Festival’s Art Walk. Store windows throughout downtown Ely create a townwide gallery by displaying the work of incredible artists and craftspeople.
It might be the backdrop of the BWCA that gives our artist community so much inspiration. But whatever sparks all of that creativity, you'll find it in Ely.
